Welcome to the Accelerated Paths blog site for educators! I'm so excited to be launching this blog today. I've wanted to do this for several years, but fear and procrastination kept it under wraps. This week marks the launch of a journey to a new path for me in the field of education. Not only is this a blog about accelerating instruction for students, it's also a little bit about my accelerated path through an education career transition. Moving from public school educator to doctoral student, conference presenter, pre-service teacher supervisor, and now freelance writer (I think) is a transition I never could have imagined making until it just started happening. I've always had a lot of thoughts and ideas about education that I wanted to share with a larger audience, and what better way to contribute to the educator network than with a blog.
So, what will you see on this blog? I'm glad you asked. I'll be contributing ideas and research about the Science of Reading and other literacy topics. The Science of Reading is a topic I'm quite passionate about and I can't wait to share and hear about the wonderful learning that takes place when students are building literacy. As a doctoral student, I'm learning so much about education, especially literacy, that is beneficial to the field. So, another thing I'd like to blog about is the latest educational research. Finally, I'll be giving helpful tips to teachers, new and seasoned, that can help build capacity in the areas of classroom management and high quality instruction. Sprinkled amongst these informative posts, you'll also read chronicles of my experiences throughout my doctoral journey.
So, now that I've introduced you to Accelerated Paths let's begin our adventure together by subscribing to the blog. Ready...Set...Launch!
